While no particular track was groove catching enough for a "smooth jazz" format (except possibly the last remix track), Traciana Graves' professional voice and attractive physical features bumps this album a notch up. Born in Harlem, USA but was raised largely in France, Graves is fluent in French, Spanish, Swahili and Portuguese. You'll hear all, if not, most of her natural languages being used in this album which is a warm welcome as a multi-language talent. If you're looking to classify this album into any certain category, it won't be easy, as the album is a heavy mixture of world fusion tunes blending in nicely with modern beats. Of course such a formula isn't always a success for every artist, but Graves seemed to have pulled it off albeit the hard way. Being a former backing vocalist for Celine Dion, Steel Purse, Youssou N' Dour and Andrew Lloyd Webber certainly helps her bring the success she will need for this debut album. As for now, check out "Si Bon" and "When I'm With You", in which a music video is being produced. Hear Songs Of A Prodigal Daughter only on CIM Radio.
