If you don't know David Tao by now, I don't know where you're hiding but probably in the caves of the Americas. For those of you who do know him, congratulations, because Mr. Tao is today's most significant contributors in the music industry either producing for himself or for other major stars. Unlike most singers, David Tao writes his own music and most of the time arranges, records, mixes and masters all of this work. He is basically a one man band and a very talented one at that. Since his debut in 1997, Tao has only released five major albums which goes to show just how much his albums can stay on the charts before he has to create another one to sustain his career. Most people will classify his music mainly as soulful, R&B, neosoul and dreamy. In fact, his music is more than that. Tao is as versatile as any pop producer should be as in the song "Black Tangerine", which is heavily rock influenced. He can even imitate Chinese opera in some of his music as his parents are traditional Chinese opera singers and other times pays respect and tribute to legendary Chinese melodies. Born in Hong Kong, but grew up in the US, David Tao's actual home is in Los Angeles where he wrote his first album and recorded it entirely at his home. He has given concerts in Hong Kong, Taiwan and China, but most of us can only wonder why Tao hasn't given a concert in the US to western audiences. After five major albums, there is David's latest CD "Beautiful". Hear the exclusive premiere on CIM Radio.
