Agatsuma's "Beyond" is truly an anticipated release by Domo Records. This second international album is a step forward for Agatsuma and is definitely more mature than previous international "Beams" album. Here again, Agatsuma showcases his ability to play extreme pop yet pays respect to the traditional Japanese musical style that his instrument, the shamisen, is associated it. The word "cool" still follows him on this album where it can be applied to tracks like "Tears" and "Heartbeat". One track to definitely be on the lookout for is "In The Sky", where the track is a heavy blend of rock, pop and funky fusion. To end this wonderful album, Agatsuma plays a very touching and excellent smooth jazz ballad "Thought Of You". This album again demonstrates Agatsuma's incredible ability to blend his instrument into so many different genres of music.
